Povidone Iodine is the complex compound of PVP and Iodine. It has powerful bactericidal action to germ 
virus, fungus, and mold. Its microbicidal potential and microbicidal spectrum is equally the same as those of Iodine. PVPI retains the most valuable advantages of high efficient partial disinfectant Iodine over the
 past century, and it also overcomes the disadvantages of iodine, such as low solubility, instability, easy
 hypersensitive reaction, thrill for skin and mucosa. Therefore, PVPI has become the first choice of Iodine
 disinfectants in the world's developed countries for nearly 30 years, and it has replaced Iodine tincture and other chlorine, mercury disinfectants.The content of free iodine in PVPI is extremely small, and a great part of the Iodine is existed in the complex form. So the stablity of Iodine is greatly improved and the toxicity is greatly reduced.
